Apples and Cider and Friends Oh My !!

Despite being sick I bundled myself up and headed to the community garden at The Mitten (a co-op house in West Philly) to help make cider. The apples had been harvested the day before at Linvnilla Orchards and there were tons and tons of them. All different varieties of apples, honeycrisps, gala, winesap, red delicious and golden delicious, and granny smiths. They were beautiful, so many colors and shapes and tastes. The process of washing, cutting, mashing and pressing was awesome, it was hard work but lots of fun. The actual mill and press was very interesting, it was so old but still in such good working condition, it was a really rewarding to be participating in such and old tradition in such an urban setting. The all hard work was worth it, the cider was delish.
After all the hard work we had our apple cowhort RS over for spaghetti non-meat meatballs and some wine. It was the perfect ending to a great day. A day that has me so excited to be in a city with such a great urban food movement.

And now for something totally different

I love this stinking kitten, even when she digs up my fig trees, and leaves little dirt pawprints all over my house. I just can not help it. She is just so stinking cute ! Yes Turd you are cute, and you know it.
Also tomorrow we are going to THIS
HERE. I am so stinking excited that things like this happen in Philadelphia.

Cozy little fur filled house...

To say that I love our house would be an understatement. Since we pretty much started from scratch ever single item in the house is something that SJ and myself love and could not live without. It's created an environment of sheer bliss and comfort. We have lived here since March and everything is finally coming together, in a few weeks we go to pick up our dining room table
(which is a super rustic old picnic table with high back benches) and after that we will be throwing a super fab soiree. As you may or may not know I L-O-V-E a good party. This party will contain killer food and drinks and good friends. I can't wait to have my house filled with love and the sounds of friends. I am open to any good ideas......

Its appropriate to host a dinner soiree in dino printed footie pj's right ??

My triumphant return !

Snug as two pugs, in a bed with their two people.

To say that things have changed in my life would be an understatement. I've been undergoing a major personal overhaul in the past few months, I feel like I'm loving myself and my life enough right now to share the goings on with the web.
This was a post to make whoever reads this silly thing to keep their eyes open, there will be postings to come, most likely they will be about these three....

Meet Farmer (the big one), Turd Ferguson (the little multi colored one) and Lulu Jane (the little black one)

I have never owned a cat before, and I have been amazed by them. Farmer is a ungrateful snit, but I love her. Its really about the kittens, I have had the two of them since the second they were born. I have a pretty amazing bond with the two of them, especially Turd. Watching the two of them grow and learn and explore has been a great experience.
The two of them are currently chasing dust.puggies (my homes version of dust.bunnies) around the dining room while the pugs sleep in the dining room, its a chilly day in the city, so we will be staying warm inside !
